Robin Padilla voices out lackluster opinion of sibling BB Gandanghari

Things are not well between Robin and Rustom .... er, BB Gandanghari

During Pinoy cinema “bad boy” Robin Padilla’s launch as the new endorser of MoneyGram last week, the press asked him about his relations with BB Gandanghari, who is in Manila currently for some commitments. To this query the actor replied, “Civil lang kami ni Rustom,” refusing to call his older brother by his new name.

“Kapatid ko siya eh. Pero hindi kami okay,” Robin says in another interview with Manila Bulletin. When asked what BB could do to make things right between the two, Robin was quick to say, in the same bold manner he exudes whenever expressing his views, “Hindi kami magiging okay siguro.”

According to Robin, it had a lot to do with their differing views. “Number one na clash ‘yun. Hindi ko siya pwedeng talikuran kasi kapatid ko ‘yun, pero hindi ko siya pwedeng samahan diyan sa rebolusyon niyang ‘yan.” BB’s “revolution,” as Robin calls it, calls for a drastic change in mindset, something the actor cannot support. “Iba ‘yang rebolusyon niya. Eh meron akong pinaniniwalaang… alam mo na… Ako’y Muslim. Meron tayong mga sinusunod. Eh, kung karapatan ng ano ‘yung pinaglalaban niya, eh kanya na lang ‘yun,” Robin remarks.

Not unknown to Robin, BB has gone through a lot of personal hardships, particularly in trying to make it on his own in the US, and BB has said he is happier and more at peace. When asked if Robin himself is happy for his brother, Robin says with a stern but not entirely angered expression, “I cannot be
happy. Hindi ako pwedeng kailanman maging masaya.” He also adds, “Hindi ko kailanman matatanggap ‘yon.”
